How many of us received training or mentoring when taking on our first leadership role? If you own a small business, where would you access such training and support without the significant cost of committing to a formal course?  As an experienced small business manager (independent bookshop) and manager in large, complex multi-function, international organisations (universities), I can help you become a more confident and effective leader at work.  My workshop on "Positive Political Skills at Work" has been successful at helping people become more confident taking the small, every day actions that create satisfying, productive working environments.  With "Failure:  We're Doing it Wrong", I explore with the leaders how to handle failure constructively with colleagues, and how to effectively manage emotions in the workplace. 

Since 2017, I have been a member of the Personnel Committee of the British Ecological Society, providing strategic HR oversight and support to the Society's leadership team.  As part of the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS) Professionalism Working Party, I contributed to the design of the Professional Pathways Framework for HE Careers Professionals.  I was also a peer reviewer for institutional careers services seeking to attain the AGCAS Quality Standard.



I offer an initial 45 minute discussion of your needs and goals, with advice where appropriate (£50).  From there, we can decide if a programme of coaching is best for you and design it together.
