Enhance Your Teaching

Teaching in HE can be challenging, and developments in policy will place increasing emphasis on the outcomes of teaching.  As budgets are reduced, getting in-house support to develop your teaching practice can be harder.  I have successfully coached senior academics to achieve National Teaching Fellowships for AdvanceHE; taught and tutored the PG CAP in Academic Practice; coached and assessed applications for AdvanceHE fellowships. I have extensive experience supporting the development of online learning and teaching, and was pedagogical lead on an award-winning Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) "Career Management for Early Career Academic Researchers".  I have a PGDE with Distinction from Moray House School of Education.  My workshop "8 questions to make you a pedagogical pro" receives excellent feedback from international academic audiences, as do my lectures on feedback and assessment. Perhaps most importantly, individuals tell me that my own teaching and teacher presence reflects compassion, is engaging, inspiring - and has been a model for their own teaching practice.

I offer an initial 45 minute discussion of your needs and goals, with advice where appropriate (£50).  From there, we can decide if a programme of coaching is best for you and design it together.
